Coastal counties in the Big Bend and North Florida are watching and waiting as Tropical Storm Elsa pushes through Cuba and then enters the Gulf of Mexico.
As of Monday, the National Hurricane Center extended the Tropical Storm Watch to Port St. Joe and Indian Pass. The move came as Elsa s track and models nudged further west with Tropical Storm Warnings stretching along the entire peninsula from the Keys up to the Ochlockonee River.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis expanded a state of emergency to cover North Florida counties in Alachua, Columbia, Dixie, Franklin, Hamilton, Gilchrist, Jefferson, Lake, Lafayette, Madison, Marion, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor and Wakulla.
