Twelve tornadoes were confirmed in the coverage area for the National Weather Service in Des Moines. There was also a radar-confirmed tornado late Wednesday near Monticello, according to the NWS office in Davenport. Tornadoes in the Shell Rock and Waverly areas were confirmed around 5:30 p.m. by the NWS office in La Crosse, Wisconsin. A tornado was also spotted near Rockford, Iowa.
