PORTLAND, Ore. Facing high fire danger, much of the western Oregon region is under a red flag warning through Friday night.
The National Weather Service in Portland (NWS) says dry and windy conditions combined with unseasonably warm temperatures are elevating fire danger Friday into the weekend.
KATU News confirmed this is the first red flag warning in April that the NWS has seen in nearly a quarter century.
Meteorologist Rhonda Shelby said this is the earliest red flag warning she can remember.
