Do you smell snow? Well, we might get a flake or two this weekend | Williamsburg Yorktown Daily

The Historic Triangle may see a snowflake or two tomorrow morning. According to the weekend forecast from the National Weather Service Wakefield office, Friday morning has a slight chance of snow before 9 a.m., followed by a chance of rain and snow between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. “What we’re dealing with is a storm system that’s going to be undercutting us and moving down through North Carolina, and there’s going to be enough moisture on the north side of the system to bring some precipitation into the area beginning mid to late morning tomorrow,” said Jonathan McGee, meteorologist at the NWS Wakefield office.

Winter weather forecast: Expect a cold, chilly Christmas –– without snow

You might see a snowflake (or two) on Christmas but that’s about it. “Christmas should be a mild day for the Williamsburg area,” said Alec Butner, meteorologist at the National Weather Service Wakefield office. On Christmas Eve, residents can expect temperatures in the 60s with “plenty of rain into the night,” he added. The temperatures will drop overnight into Christmas Day with temperatures in the 30s for the morning and daytime hours. The rain stops on Christmas Day with no precipitation expected. It will be a bit breezy too with 15 to 20 mph winds with higher gusts. “A chilly day for Christmas but dry,” Butner said.
