The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum will hold its 30th induction banquet next Saturday, June 5th. Executive Director Bob Baker says all the living inductees will be in attendance.
“We have eight inductees this year. Those include sprint car drivers Greg Hodnett, Tim Shaffer, and Jeff Swindell. The owner/mechanic/builder category includes Will Dyer and Paul Leffler. Our promoter/official media member/event series sponsor includes Don Lamberti and Spencer Riggs. Our pre-1945 era includes Bill Cummings. All of the living inductees will be at the induction banquet. We’re looking forward to hosting that.”
The banquet begins at noon on Saturday, June 5th at Dyer Hudson Hall on the Marion County Fairgrounds in Knoxville. Tickets cost $30.

Inducted into the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame, Larry was one of the top Sprint car owners in the mid-1980s and 1990s. Relying on rock-solid equipment and dependable drivers, Larry’s teams got consistent Top 10 and Top 5 honors as well as plenty of Top 3 finishes. His car always ran up front, said Larry s son, Larry Ball Jr.
Larry Sr. who was remembered as a supportive father, loving husband and caring friend in and out of the racing world died last spring due to complications from COVID-19. He was 78.
