Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Sterlite Technologies Ltd (down 2.5%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 1.08%), ITI Ltd (down 0.86%), and Reliance Communications Ltd (down 0.49%), were the top losers. On the other hand, GTPL Hathway Ltd (up 6.84%), Tejas Networks Ltd (up 4.96%), and OnMobile Global Ltd (up 4.93%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 80.32 or 0.17% at 47826.54.
The Nifty 50 index was up 18.15 points or 0.13% at 14000.1.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 90.95 points or 0.5% at 18124.26.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 28.01 points or 0.47% at 5969.51.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Reliance Communications Ltd (down 1.47%), Indus Towers Ltd (down 1.47%),Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 0.97%),Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 0.97%),Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 0.89%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (down 0.82%), ITI Ltd (down 0.79%), HFCL Ltd (down 0.77%), Tata Communications Ltd (down 0.46%), and GTPL Hathway Ltd (down 0.16%). On the other hand, Tejas Networks Ltd (up 4.97%), OnMobile Global Ltd (up 4.94%), and Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 4.67%) moved up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 30.21 or 0.06% at 47582.87.

India Inc.’s latest ask from the government is for tweaks in the brand-new production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. In some cases, the demand is for a level-playing field for local manufacturers and, in others, for more incentives to companies that do value addition in India.
While the Union cabinet approved the PLI scheme in 10 new sectors in November, the fine print is clearly work in progress with different implementing ministries still holding consultations with industry bodies. The $26-billion scheme is fast becoming the fulcrum of India’s manufacturing policy, with a triple objective attracting foreign investment, helping local manufacturers achieve scale, and making Indian exports competitive.
