Visitors Bureau faces pandemic challenges Raible SIDNEY As has been its mission since inception in 2002, increasing the regional visibility of Sidney and Shelby County as a recreation travel option continued as the primary focus of the Sidney Visitors Bureau last year. Unfortunately, the pandemic of 2020 presented a formidable challenge for the Bureau in fulfilling its mission. Jeff Raible, president, Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, has submitted the following report about the Sidney Visitors Bureau: Promotional messages of the Bureau reached more than 3 million people in 2020 based on conservative estimates for both digital and print advertising reach. Social media, eNewsletters, search engine optimization, the DiscoverOhio app, and web banner advertising were heavily employed to connect with consumers receptive to digital suggestions on how to best spend their leisure travel time in Ohio.
