BEECH MOUNTAIN â Beech Mountain Resort announced on May 18 the lineup for its 2021 summer concert series taking place this August.
Critically acclaimed experimental jam ensemble Umphreyâs McGee will kick off the season with a double header event spanning the evenings of August 6 and 7, with GRAMMY-winning blues rockers Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks bringing their intimate âFireside Liveâ tour to the resort on August 14, followed by a foot-stomping closeout courtesy of newgrass titans Greensky Bluegrass on August 21.
This yearâs pod-style event series will mark the third installation of Beech Mountainâs annual summer music program, which has quickly grown to become a beloved tradition for area residents and vacationers alike. The summer “Back in the Saddle” tour announced over the weekend by country star Jason Aldean includes a two-night run at The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach.
The August 27-28 dates appear to be the only Alabama shows planned on the run, which starts Aug. 5 in Virginia Beach, Va., and ends Oct. 30 in Tampa.
“It’s been emotional being back on stage with my band for the first time in a year this weekend,” Aldean said of his return to the road. “It’s made us all even more ready to get back to life as we all know it. Being on the road makes all of us - the band, the crew and me - happy and I haven’t felt this excited about going on tour in 15 years.”
