Wicked Local
Banh mi sandwiches piled high with grilled pork and pickled carrots. Steaming, aromatic bowls of pho and bún bò huế, spicy Vietnamese beef noodle soup. Vermicelli noodles topped with lemongrass chicken.
Brookline residents will soon be able to try all this and more when Pho Viet’s opens in town later this month.
The name might sound familiar: Until recently, Pho Viet’s had a stall at the Super 88 food court in Allston, and the owners opened a Newton Centre offshoot, Pho Viet’s II, two years ago. Now, married couple Thanh Tran and Jenn Tin are getting ready to open a new Vietnamese restaurant at 1022 Commonwealth Ave., just blocks away from the original location.
