Ridgefield is currently reporting 9 new cases as of Monday, December 14 at 4 p.m. with ages of cases ranging from under one to 100. The majority of the cases fall in the 40-50 age range.

Webinar on Thursday, Dec. 17
Infectious Disease Doctor Mayer Madhoun and Health Director Ed Briggs will talk about the upcoming vaccines during a town-wide webinar on Thursday, December 17 at 7 p.m. Panelists also include School Superintendent Susie Da Silva, Data Scientist Rick Lawrence and First Selectman Rudy Marconi. The Zoom webinar will also be on the Town website being streamed on the video page but will not be available on Comcast Channel 24.

Ridgefield s Main Street is a sight to behold during the holiday season. And, when the sun sets, the trees sparkle. But not all of the lights in the downtown area are white. Ever wonder why the trees on the corner of Main and Catoonah (in front of Fairfield County Bank Insurance Services) are adorned with the colors of the American flag?
A few years back, we asked the folks at Fairfield County Bank Insurance Service. In 2004, Ridgefield High School s graduating class included six young men who were being deployed to the Middle East as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. That year, the Town of Ridgefield included a patriotic theme to the tree lighting and decorations, they said.
