Pokemon Go s Marill Research Day Is Today
Pokemon Go is hosting a Limited Research Day featuring the chance to capture nearly 70 Marill. Today s Limited Research Event runs from 8 AM to 10 PM and focuses on the Water/Fairy-type Pokemon Marill. Not only does today s mini-event tie into the also running Luminous Legends X event (which adds several Fairy-type Pokemon to the game), it also gives players a prime opportunity to add a Azumarill with superior stats and moves to their collection. Azumarill is one of the top Pokemon in the Great League division of Go Battle League, so today is an opportunity to find a Marill with Perfect IVs and power it up to competitive levels.

As this article is set to be published, we’re diving in to the latest Pokemon GO event: Luminous Legends X! This event started on May 4, 2021, and will last until May 17, 2021, at 8PM local time. As is generally the case, some of the spawns and bonuses may last just beyond the scheduled end of the event – but don’t risk it! You’re going to want to try your hand at the Shiny Pokemon in this event as soon as possible.
There’s a challenge going on during this event that should (pretty likely) be activated on May 11. Between now and Sunday, May 9, 2021, trainers around the world are aiming to catch a total of 500 million Fairy-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO. If this is accomplished, the rewards are great!
New Pokemon Go Research Event Announced
Niantic announced the next
Pokemon Go Research Event this week and revealed that the May event will focus on Marill. The Water and Fairy-type Pokemon will be findable through a series of Timed Research tasks that may lead to people being able to catch a Shiny version of the Pokemon. Like the other Timed Research events, however, this one’s only going to be live for a couple of hours during one day of the month.
That day is May 9th, and the event will be live from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for players to complete their tasks and better their chances at finding a Marill or two. The Pokemon will be appearing more often anyways on that day, but if you’re completing your Field Research tasks, you’re guaranteed an encounter.

There’ll be an event in Pokemon GO in the very near future, courtesy of the Luminous Legends X crew. The Pokemon that’ll be featured is Xerneas, and featured Pokemon in the mix include some Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokemon from the Kalos region. This includes several Pokemon that’ve never been available in the game Pokemon GO before!
This event will include 7km Pokemon eggs that hatch into Cleffa, Igglybuff, Azurill, Gible, Swirlix, and Spritzee. There’ll be event-exclusive Timed Research during this event that’ll allow you to encounter Fairy-type Pokemon like Swirlix and Spritzee, too.
