The Archdiocese of Cebu said the image was brought by Monsignor Jan Thomas Limchua, a Cebuano priest.
The archdiocese shared the photos of the occasion from the Facebook page of Limchua, Saturday, Feb. 20.
In a separate post, CBCP News said the Cebu-crafted image of the child Jesus will remain with Mons. Limchua, who will endorse it to the Bisaya Community in Rome for the use of their Sinulog activities.
Limchua is an official of the Section for the Relations with States of the Secretariat of the State of the Holy See.
In October 2020, the priest was also appointed as papal chaplain.

Novaliches Bishop Roberto Gaa conferred the Pro Ecclesia et Pro Pontifice to Gallegos on Jan. 14 at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Quezon City.
In an interview with Church-run Radio Veritas, Gallegos said she didn’t expect that she will receive such recognition from the Church.
“Everything I do for God comes from my heart; I’m happy to do it even if it’s difficult,” she said. “I think, I am just an instrument of God’s grace to people; by being nice to people, giving smile at them, you’re giving them hope,” added Gallegos.

In an interview with Church-run Radio Veritas, Father Angelito Cortez of the Association of Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines said he feels blessed with his appointment.
“My heart overflows with gratitude to God for all the blessings I have received throughout the year 2020 despite the trials and tribulations, I do not think it will end in a new way of serving,” he said.
“God sees something in us that we can’t see that’s why you will just ask if I deserve it?” added Cortez.
He said he felt humbled by his appointment and promised to try his best to be ” the best that I can be for the church and for my congregation.”
