Four arrested in Corning during marijuana-related raid

A search warrant was executed Monday at the location of the former furniture manufacturing plant that covered the entire 1500 block of East Avenue in Corning. The Tehama County District Attorney Bureau of Investigation executed the warrant with the assistance of the Tehama County Major Crimes Task Force, the Tehama County Department of Environmental Health, and the Corning Police Department. Chief Investigator Clay said they discovered “numerous concealed marijuana grow rooms” that had been constructed inside of the plant, along with some temporary living quarters for the housing of some of the growers. Clay said six rooms contained 5,029 marijuana plants. He also said the old manufacturing plant had been purchased for $300,000. He said more than $200,000 had been spent to set up the marijuana growing operation.
