CNA photo Feb. 3, 2021 Taipei, Feb. 3 (CNA) An online vendor of tech gadgets was arrested in Taoyuan last month for allegedly swindling buyers by offering cheap iPhone 12 models and not delivering the products, the Criminal Investigation Bureau said Wednesday. The 28-year-old suspect was advertising the latest iPhones at NT$5,000 (US$179) to NT$10,000 below the average price, and after making a few sales to earn buyers trust, he stopped all deliveries, said Lee Ming-tao (李明道), deputy chief of the bureau s 2nd Investigation Corp. In one case of collective buying, the suspect defrauded the customers out of NT$2.8 million, Lee said.
