CHON BURI: Pattaya and the rest of Bang Lamung district has been locked down until further notice to curb a surge in Covid-19 infections, the provincial disease control committee said on Wednesday.
The order, signed by governor Pakarathorn Thianchai, the committee chairman, was issued after 22 new Covid-19 infections were registered in Bang Lamung district.
The following measures are to be taken under the order:
- All department stores, restaurants and shops selling food and drinks are closed. They are open to customers for take-home only;

KANCHANABURI: Police arrested two Myanmar nationals on Tuesday night for violating an order of the provincial disease control committee banning travel by migrant workers, to stem the spread of Covid-19.
They were detained about 9.30pm after a pickup truck they were travelling in was stopped for a search at a three-way intersection checkpoint in tambon Prang Phle of Sangkhlaburi district.

PHUKET: Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew today (Dec 22) issued a formal order for all potential carriers of COVID-19 arriving in Phuket to be screened for the virus.

New arrivals at Phuket International Airport, at all piers and marinas and at the Phuket Check Point in Tha Chatchai must have their temperature checked in order to be allowed into the province, the order noted.
Officials are empowered under the order to inspect any establishments, workplaces and workers’ camps where migrant workers who may have illegally entered the country might be staying or working.
