VIENTIANE, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) One of the five remaining COVID-19 patients in Laos has been permitted to return home after showing negative for the virus in the second round of testing.
Deputy director general of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control under the Ministry of Health, Sisavath Soutthaniraxay, told a press conference in Lao capital Vientiane on Monday that the recovered patient is the country s 27th case of COVID-19, who had been treated in the Mittaphab Hospital (Hospital 150) since November 23.
On Sunday, a total of 1,997 people entered Laos through international border checkpoints. The temperature of each person entering Laos was checked and no one showed signs of fever.
