Scott Sifton announces campaign for U S Senate seat

ST. LOUIS - Scott Sifton announced his bid for the U.S. Senate in 2022 Monday morning.Â Sifton would run for Republican Sen. Roy Blunt s seat, which is up in 2022. Blunt s spokesperson confirmed his candidacy to the Associated Press Monday morning. Sifton was previously an Affton school board member, in addition to serving the 96th District as a Missouri State Representative from January 2011 to January 2013 and the 1st District as a State Senator from January 2013 to January 2021. KHP faces discrimination lawsuit

By the Associated Press: Six women have sued top officials of the Kansas Highway Patrol, alleging they discriminated against female employees and created a hostile work environment. Former and current employees allege in a lawsuit filed Friday that the agency violated federal anti-discrimination law, the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment and their First Amendment speech rights. The Highway Patrol did not immediately return a message from the Associated Press Monday seeking comment. The women’s lawsuit comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed last month by two former majors who allege their own dismissal was retaliation for attempting to help women report the behavior.
