Tiger rescued from neglect dies after nearly 20 years at N.J. animal refuge
Updated 7:38 AM;
Caesar, a beloved tiger rescued from Texas, died at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge after nearly two decades with the Ocean County, N.J., animal sanctuary, the organization announced Thursday.
Transported to Popcorn Park from a zoo that was closing in June 2002, Caesar was found neglected and needed medical care, according to the group. His condition soon improved under care at the Lacey Township refuge, which is run by Associated Humane Societies.
“Caesar [quickly] became everyone’s best friend,” a social media post from Popcorn Park said. “He loved to rub up along his fence and talk with his caretakers. Chuffing, moaning and groaning, any sound that he could make in order to talk with us. He was 2 when he arrived, and he never seemed to get any older. He just acted like a 2-year-old ‘cub’ all his life.”

You ve all seen it, trash or other belongings left on the beach with no regard for other people or animals.
The Popcorn Park Zoo is hoping to drive home a message, and reminder, to everyone that what you leave behind as much as an accident it is, could very well harm an animal or make them sick.
This comes after a Seagull died in their care this week.
The bird was found injured and tangled in a fishing line along the beach in Surf City, the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo said in a statement Friday.

This story makes my blood boil! The idea of someone just throwing away a dog like taking out the trash is just a heinous act. As a dog owner and lover it is just horrible to think someone would be so cruel that they wouldn t even give this poor animal a chance to survive.
Our friends from Popcorn Park Zoo reached out to me with information about this terrible crime in Barnegat Township. It appears someone wanted to get rid of a dog and they decided to just leave it in a cage out in the elements without any food or water, basically to die.
