JOB CENTERS IN MISSOURI EXPECTED TO OPEN MARCH 15, LOCAL COVID-19 FACTORS STILL UNDER CONSIDERATION

Beginning Monday, March 15, most Missouri Job Centers will transition from appointment-only visits to a full re-opening, with walk-ins welcome. The new policy only applies to Job Centers that meet three main criteria for re-opening. Centers must be located in counties where COVID-19 positivity rates are below 8.5 percent, they must have adequate staffing to provide services, and must be able to meet the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development’s internal Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan guidelines. Decisions on whether Job Centers meet the re-opening requirements will be made on a case-by-case basis. Decisions will be made Monday of each week and announced to impacted Job Center staff with a notice of one week prior to status change from “Appointment Only” to “Open.”

Virginia Adopts Permanent COVID-19 Safety Standards for Employers | McGuireWoods LLP

To embed, copy and paste the code into your website or blog: Virginia has adopted permanent COVID-19 safety rules for employers that will remain in effect as long as the commonwealth remains in a state of emergency. When that ends, the Safety and Health Codes Board will determine whether the need for the standard continues. For the most part, the permanent standard follows the emergency standard issued in July 2020. A July 20, 2020, McGuireWoods alert, “Virginia Issues First-in-the-Nation COVID-19 Safety Rules for Employers,” discussed the features of the emergency standard. However, the new permanent standard includes important changes and mandates that employers should address.
