In 1974, Francis Ford Coppola’s
The Conversation opened to nearly unanimous acclaim. The story was formed after filmmaker Ivan Kershner sent Coppola an article about a sound wizard named Hal Lipset (who was later summoned east to analyze the notorious eighteen-minute “blank” section of White House tape during the Watergate Investigations). Regarding surveillance technology, film scholar Turner finds a social dimension surrounding works like Coppola’s, stating that “electronic surveillance techniques and strategies influence the entire social order.”

Ashmita Guha Neogi created history in October 2020 when her diploma film,
CatDog, won the top prize for film schools at the Cannes festival. A Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) alumnus, Neogi beat stiff competition from 16 other films, all selected in the Cannes Cinefondation film school competition out of 1,952 entries from 444 film schools from around the world.

Deccan police have arrested the guard and seized ten batteries of two-wheelers, iron pipes, window bars and tempo used for the theft.
Bhagwan Ganpati Shekapure (56), who works at FTII as a guard, had submitted a complaint regarding the missing materials, following which the cops nabbed Rahul Ram Bhandwe (32). He has been working at FTII since a year and a half. He has been using his tempo to pick up trash from the premises on occasion.
