The Commission serves as the main United Nations forum for an intensified global dialogue on social development issues and contributes to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Rollout of devices under TATT MOU continues 18th January, 2021, Port-of-Spain: The Ministry of Education, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) is continuing the distribution of devices to students at public primary and secondary schools across Trinidad and Tobago. The MoU will put ten thousand (10,000) ICT-enabled devices and SIM cards, with data plans, procured by  telecom providers Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (TSTT) and Digicel (Trinidad & Tobago) Limited, into the hands of students across Trinidad and Tobago. Since receiving the initial 800 devices last November, students at 40 schools in the examination year-group at primary and secondary levels were the first to receive devices. Minister Cox presents on Digital Transformation at XII Ministerial Forum for Development in Latin America and the Caribbean Port-of-Spain - Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Senator the Honourable Donna Cox, presented on Day 2 of the XII Virtual Ministerial Forum for Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, which is jointly being hosted by the UNDP, ECLAC and the Government of Colombia over the period January 12 th-14 th, 2021. The theme for Wednesday’s roundtable discussion was  Inclusive Digital Transformation as a Mechanism for Productivity, Inclusion and Resilience, and featured contributions from the esteemed Ministers of the Governments of Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Honduras and Argentina. Opening remarks were delivered by Luis Felipe López-Calva, UNDP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, whilst Victor Munaz, High Presidential Consular for Innovation and Digital Transformation of Colombia served as Moderator.
