Efforts on to restore utility services in North Batinah SHARE
Muscat: Within the framework of the national efforts of the Sultan s Armed Forces (SAF) and other departments, the engineering services at the Ministry of Defence activated its operational plan to deal with the effects of the weather situation in North al Batinah Governorate, by sending generators to restore the electricity supply.
The engineering services sent heavy equipment to reopen roads and remove waste, pumps for water suction, and sewage tankers, while specialists continue to assess the situation and provide technical support to citizens and residents.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said efforts are underway to restore telecommunications services in the governorates of North and South al-Batinah, which have been affected by the weather.

MUSCAT: In an effort to promote eGovernment projects and initiatives in the Sultanate, the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) and a number of government entities are participating in the 27th edition of the COMEX exhibition under the umbrella of e.oman pavilion. The exhibition will be take place for the first time in the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 28 to April 1.
The e.oman pavilion will include six main pillars including, innovation zone, future technologies that include Internet of Things and Smart Cities, business centre, eTransformation section, eLearning section, security section; in addition to government entities section in which they will showcase their services and launch new eServices. Some government and private sector organisations from the GCC countries are also participating in the exhibition.

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour, in cooperation with Huawei and in partnership with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and Omantel, has launched a training program for graduates of information technology and communications engineering courses.
A statement issued online said: “The training program includes the first batch of 35 trainees and has been launched with the aim of providing training opportunities for students to enable them to meet the requirements of the market and to provide them with the necessary experience.”
“It is worth noting that this training program aims to enhance the capabilities and skills of graduates of information technology and communication engineering as part of the agreement signed by the Ministry of Labour and Huawei at the end of last year, to train and qualify 300 graduates of information technology and communications engineering during a period of 3 years,” added the statement.
Over 10,000 jobs provided in three months: Ministry

Over 10, 000 job opportunities (10,196) were provided during the first quarter of this year, which is 31.6 percent of the numbers targeted by the Ministery of Labour for 2021.
This achievement is due to various measures taken by the Ministry of Labor to fulfill what it had committed to in its executive plan announced in January this year.
The report said 4,051 job opportunities were presented in the units of the state’s administrative apparatus, including replacements.- 1,330 in the Ministry of Health, 2,469 in the Ministry of Education, 115 in the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, 92 at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences and other institutions.
