Federal IT Minister hails 33% women among graduating startups of NIC Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The National Incubation Center (NIC) Peshawar hosted the 2nd Graduation Ceremony on Monday to celebrate the achievements of its third and fourth cohort startups.
The Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin-ul-Haque was the Chief Guest at the Ceremony.
Syed Amin-ul-Haque was accompanied by the political leadership from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the CEO Ignite, the LMKT team, and other dignitaries.
The NIC Peshawar is an initiative of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication funded by Ignite and operated by the LMKT in collaboration with the PTCL.
USF Board okays Rs8b contract for broadband services for remote areas

LAHORE: The Universal Service Fund (USF) Board approved award of contracts, worth approximately Rs8.81 billion, to provide high speed mobile broadband services for around 6 million people in un-served and under-served areas of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Advised by the Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunication, Syed Amin Ul Haque, the USF Board also approved award of ‘Next Generation Broadband for Sustainable Development’ contracts to Telenor, Ufone and Jazz and optic fiber cable contracts to PTCL. These projects were approved in the 75th board of directors meeting of USF, presided over by the Federal Secretary for Ministry of Information Technology (IT) and Chairman of USF Board Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui.

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) led by its Technical Adviser on Digital Governance Tariq Malik called on Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque on Thursday.
During the meeting matters related to digital transformation and digital governance were discussed at length, says a press release.
Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and UNDP agreed to mutually cooperate and work on different digital governance projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Aminul Haque said that Ministry of IT will extend full cooperation for the digital transformation and development programmes of the UNDP. He said that ministry was working on different projects including e-governance, digital payment, women empowerment etc.
