Rajkot: The historic declaration of Dholavira as a UNESCO World Heritage Site has raised hopes among residents of this tiny Kutch village to get better basic amenities like electricity, water and road connectivity. The border village of Bhachau taluka in Kutch has a population of around 2,700 and most residents are dependent on agriculture for their income. Uninterrupted power supply, drinking water and good roads are a far cry for this village, which has now gained the coveted international tag. Dholavira sarpanch Jilubhai Sodha said, “In peak summer, we are forced to drink water which has TDS levels as high as 1,500-1,700 as there is no groundwater source here. Warangal: Telangana State To Release Rs.100 Crore For Ramappa Temple Development Jul 29, 2021, 10:36 IST The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), on Sunday, July 25, awarded the tag of World Heritage site to the Ramappa temple, also known as Rudreswara Temple situated near Warangal. The 800-year-old temple located in Palampet, Mulugu district was built by a Kakatiya General Recherla Rudra Reddy, during the period of the Kakatiya ruler Ganapati Deva. On Wednesday, the Telangana High Court ordered the centre and state governments to draft a plan for the conservation and development of the Ramappa Temple. A High Court Division Bench led by Chief Justice Hima Kohli took cognizance of a newspaper report highlighting the necessity for temple protection measures.
