Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel who visited the Red Fort to take stock of the damage by agitating farmers during the tractor rally, on Wednesday said that he has directed officials to register an FIR regarding the vandalism immediately.
The Minister has directed officials to also submit a report at the earliest and hand it over to Ministry of Home Affair (MHA).
Mr Patel along with police and other officials visited the incident spot where broken shards of glass, scattered pieces of paper, vandalised ticket counter, metal detector gate, and police caps could be seen strewn around.

Union Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel on Wednesday visited the Red Fort to assess the damage to the site, a day after protesting farmers entered the monument, and asked officials to prepare a report on the incident immediately. Officials of the Ministry and the ASI accompanied him.

Red Fort will remain closed for visitors till January 31, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) said in an order on Wednesday. While the order did not mention a reason behind the closure, it is believed that this time will be utilised to ascertain any damage that might have been caused to the iconic monument when it was overrun by protesters on January 26.
