Reflecting the State government’s claim that certain anomalies in the Central government’s policy is hampering its COVID-19 vaccination drive, P. Subrahmanya Sastry, a Guntur-based paediatrician, has filed a PIL in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, appealing for a direction to the Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech to supply the vaccines directly without being hindered by the policy framework of the Union of India.

JAMMU, Apr 28: As the hospitals in both the capitals of Jammu and Kashmir are already facing an immense load due to routine admissions of the COVID-19 positive patients from all over the Union Territory, the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Kashmir and Jammu today directed the hospitals in peripheries to refrain from referring patients to tertiary care hospitals.
While issuing the order in this connection, DHS Jammu Dr Renu Sharma has impressed upon all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and Medical Superintendents to ensure that there are no unnecessary referrals from districts to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu which is already overburdened with the load of COVID patients.

Congress leader and Mumbai resident Milind Deora thanked Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani for supplying 100 tons of oxygen to Maharashtra’s hospitals amid severe shortage and spiralling Covid-19 cases in the state.

The Health Ministry on Monday (1 March) clarified that the registration to book Covid-19 vaccination appointments can only be done via the CoWIN Web Portal. Here is a link for the same.
Citizens can go to www.cowin.gov.in to register themselves or via the Aarogya Setu app, which has CoWIN app integration. The availability of slots nearby to get vaccinated is subject to availability.
A user guide to help citizens register and book their appointment has been uploaded on the websites of the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the National Health Authority (NHA).
