The Union health Ministry on Monday said that 1,48,266 people got COVID-19 vaccination shot today. Adding to that, the ministry also informed that 580 Adverse event following immunization (AEFIs) have been reported so far since the vaccination drive against coronavirus began in India on 16 January, 2021.
Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], January 18 (ANI): Punjab reported 140 new COVID-19 cases, 278 recoveries and 7 deaths on Monday taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,70,729, according to the state health department.

Maharashtra: No halt in COVID vaccination sessions, drive to resume from next week, govt clarifies
The Maharashtra Health Department on Sunday claifired that no COVID-19 vaccination sessions were planned on January 17-18 and they will continue from the next week as per the Central government s guidelines. The statement comes amid reports of a halt in vaccination drive for two days due to glitch in Co-WIN app. No Covid vaccination sessions were planned on Sunday 17th or Monday 18th January. So the question of cancellation does not arise. Covid vaccination sessions will be organised in the next week as per GOI guidelines, the health department said.
