New Delhi [India], December 16 (ANI): The active Covid-19 caseload of the country stands at 3,32,002, which is 3.34 per cent of the total coronavirus cases in India, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said on Wednesday. The ongoing trend of contraction of India s total active cases continues. The active caseload of the country stands at 3,32,002. The share of active cases in the total positive cases has further shrunk to 3.34 per cent, the Health Ministry said in a release.

The Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech developed COVID-19 vaccine candidate Covaxin s Phase-1 trial results have been released on Wednesday.
According to the company, all dosage groups have tolerated the vaccine well and there are no serious adverse events of it. The vaccine was well tolerated in all dose groups with no vaccine-related serious adverse events, Bharat Biotech said. After 1st vaccination, local & systemic adverse events were predominantly mild/moderate in severity & resolved rapidly, without prescribed medication. Most common adverse event was pain at injection site which resolved spontaneously, it added.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 17 (ANI): As many as 416 new coronavirus cases were reported in Indore on Wednesday, according to Chief Medical and Health Officer Poornima Gadaria.
The overall cases in the district have now reached 50,332, while the cumulative toll climbed to 826.
So far 45,072 have been discharged after recovering from the disease.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 26,382 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total cases to 99,32,548. The death toll has gone up to 1,44,096 with 387 more deaths.
At present, the country has 3,32,002 active coronavirus cases. (ANI)

VIJAYAWADA: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recently released details of the first phase of the National Family Health Survey (NFHS)-5 (2019-20) for 17 states and five union territories.
Field work for the survey was done between July and November 2019 by Sigma Research and Consulting Pvt. Ltd. As per the new data, Andhra Pradesh’s sex ratio has widened to 1,045 females per 1,000 males against 1,021 females per 1,000 males during NFHS-4, conducted four years ago.
The NFHS-5 showed that there are 1,024 females per 1,000 males in urban areas, and 1,055 females per 1,000 males in rural areas of the state. The sex ratio at birth for children born in the last five years stood at 934 females per 1,000 males during the conclusion of NFHS-5, while it was 914 females per 1000 males during the last survey.
