India reports lowest daily rise in new COVID-19 cases since April 1, records 3,921 deaths in 24 hours

India has been witnessing a continuous fall in the active COVID-19 caseload and the active number of COVID cases stands at 9,73,158. As many as 1,19,501 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 2,81,62,947. So far, 25,48,49,301 people have been administered the COVID-19 jab under the mass vaccination drive, the Health Ministry data showed.  Meanwhile, the overall global COVID-19 caseload has topped 175.8 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 3.79 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University. In its latest update on Monday morning, the University`s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 175,884,287 and 3,799,649, respectively.

With 70,421 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, India maintained its declining trend of cases and reported the lowest single-day COVID-19 rise in 74 days, informed the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday. With this, the total cases have reached 2,95,10,410, and the daily positivity rate stands at 4.72 per cent, which is less than 10 per cent for the 21st consecutive day. Also, the weekly positivity rate dropped below 5 per cent and today stands at 4.54 per cent. The active caseload remained below 10 lakhs after 66 days and today stands at 9,73,158. According to the health ministry, a total of 3,921 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 3,74,305 in the country.

India News | Centre Gave over 26 Crore COVID Vaccine Doses to States/UTs

Representative image New Delhi [India], June 13 (ANI): The Centre has provided more than 26 crore COVID vaccine doses to States and Union Territories UTs so far, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Sunday. More than 26 crore (26,64,84,350) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through the direct state procurement category. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 25,12,66,637 doses, reads the official statement. According to Union Health Ministry, more than 1.53 crore (1,53,79,233) COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered. Furthermore, more than 4 lakh (4,48,760) vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the States/UTs within the next three days, said the Union Health Ministry.
