New Delhi: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the Centre and the states over allegations of “poor working conditions” of ASHA workers in the rural areas across the country, the rights panel said on Monday.
It has observed that the allegations of “poor working conditions”, if true, raise very crucial issues as the entire health management system of the vast rural population across India depends upon these ASHA workers.

New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Tuesday held a review meeting through video conferencing with administrators from States and Union Territories (UTs) on the progress of COVID-19 vaccination and modifications on the CoWIN software that will provide more flexibility to vaccine administrators.
In the meeting chaired by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, a detailed presentation was done on the progress of the countrywide vaccination drive, with focus on states or UTs that are lagging behind in providing coverage to the vulnerable population groups. The scope to substantially speed up vaccination in this category was stressed, an official statement said.
