New Delhi: The Delhi high court on Tuesday posted to May 17 a petition which sought a halt to the Central Vista redevelopment project. The petition argued that the project did not constitute an âessential serviceâ; to the contrary, it posed âa threat to the lives of the citizens of Delhi and beyond, including the lives of the work force/labour engaged in the projectâ. The plea also cautioned that the project construction could prove to be a COVID-19 âsuperspreaderâ.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], April 30 (ANI): Department of Personnel Training of the Central government, in its affidavit submitted in Uttarakhand High Court has said that Forest Research Institute, Dehradun is not a recognised institution .
The DoPT has filed the affidavit in the High Court in response to the notice issued by the court in February this year while hearing a petition of Magsaysay Award recipient India Forest Services officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi alleging irregularities and forgery by the centre in the selection process of a member of Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
The affidavit dated April 28, 2021, filed by the secretary, DoPT said, Further, the petitioner (Chaturvedi) did not possess the educational qualification of Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University or Institution.

The Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change has extended the validity of the Environmental and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance to the Vizhinjam international deepwater multipurpose seaport for a further three years.
With the extension of validity of the Environmental Clearance (EC) till January 2, 2024 Adani Vizhinjam Port Private Ltd (AVPPL), the multi-port operator, will have time till December 2023 to complete the project’s Phase I, which missed the target of December 3, 2019.
