Except confirmation about his exit, there was no other communication from the government.
He was appointed in the PMO first as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) briefly and then as Principal Advisor, a specially created position for him, in September 2019 after the 2019 parliamentary polls.
Earlier, he was Secretary, Ministry of Power in the government of India and served as Cabinet Secretary for four years from 2015.

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Power on Monday brushed off a report linking the Mumbai power outage in October last year to a Chinese cyber attack.
A US company has hinted in its latest study that a Chinese government-linked group of hackers may have targeted India s critical power grid system through malware.
In a statement, the power ministry said, An email was received from CERT-In on 19th November, 2020 on the threat of malware called Shadow Pad at some control centres of POSOCO. Accordingly, action has been taken to address these threats.

Andhra Pradesh has registered an impressive performance in implementing the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme (cycle-II) by achieving more energy savings in industries when compared to that of the first cycle.
The State has achieved 0.25 million tonnes of oil equivalent (MTOE) during the second cycle of the PAT scheme when compared to the 0.21 million tonnes of oil equivalent (2,384 million units) during the first cycle, according to official sources.
The Director General of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) congratulated the Energy and Industries Departments for the performance in the PAT scheme.
