Moreover, no mechanism has yet been put in place in Ladakh Union Territory for start of fresh recruitments for want of recommendations from the Apex Committee constituted by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

India Coronavirus Dispatch: Record daily rise in fresh cases and fatalities

Nearly 361,000 fresh cases reported India reported 360,960 fresh coronavirus infections on Wednesday, taking the cumulative caseload to 17.9 million, according to central health ministry data. The country saw 3,292 deaths due to the pandemic, taking the death toll to 201,187. This is the biggest ever one-day rise so far in cases and fatalities. The active caseload is at 2.9 million, while the total recoveries have surged to 14.8 million.
