New Delhi [India], December 19 (ANI): Union Minister Anurag Thakur took a jibe at Congress and said that the party s performance will remain unchanged even if it elects its president. It is an internal matter of Congress. They are free to elect whomsoever they want to elect party president. If they choose a president or remain without the president, their performance will remain the same, Thakur told ANI when asked to comment on Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala s remark that 99.9 percent of people including him want party leader Rahul Gandhi to be elected as party president again.

BJP rally boat capsizes in Dal, workers rescued

Srinagar, Dec 13: A boat carrying BJP activists capsized in Dal lake during an election rally led by its leaders, including Minister of State for Finance, Anurag Thakur and party’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh.
The party had organised a boat rally in Dal lake and one of the boats carrying several activists capsized near Ghat No.17. However, all the activists were rescued immediately.
Locals, along with J&K Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the BJP workers and media persons.

Budgam: Polling for the sixth phase for 31 District Development Council constituencies including 14 seats from Kashmir division and 17 from Jammu division ended today.
Ahead of the sixth phase of District Development Council (DDC) polls in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister of State Finance Anurag Thakur addressed a gathering in Budgam on Saturday, campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Thakur said the elections are being contested on the issue of development and the huge voter turnout shows that democracy is winning in the Union Territory. Opportunities are waiting for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
