New Delhi [India], April 8 (ANI): The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned 14 road projects of 127.93 kilometres at the cost of over Rs 670 crores for Jharkhand in 2020-21, informed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday.
In a series of tweets, Gadkari said that the projects include the strengthening and reconstruction of a section of the National Highway (NH)-333A at a cost of 76.5 crores, and strengthening and widening of a section of NH-143B at a cost of 81.59 crores. Strengthening of a section of NH-100 in the state of Jharkhand has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 18.07 crores. He said the achievement was remarkable as it was achieved despite constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The ministry of road transport and highways has constructed 13,394 km of highways in fiscal year 2020-21. Tremendous progress has been achieved in building national highways across the country. We have achieved a road building pace of 37 km of highways a day, Gadkari said. Gadkari said these achievements are unprecedented and have no parallel in any other country in the world . He said over the past seven years, length of national highways has gone up by 50 per cent from 91,287 km (as of April 2014) to 1,37,625 km (as on March 20, 2021).

New Delhi [India], April 1 (ANI): Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday announced a slew of construction and rehabilitation projects for roads in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Ladakh and Telangana. Land acquisition for the work of rehabilitation and up-gradation of Ras - Beawar section of National Highway (NH)-158 in the state of Rajasthan has been approved with a budget Rs 38.282 crores.
