Karnataka tableau highlights glory of Vijayanagara

New Delhi, Jan 26: The tableau of Karnataka at the Republic Day parade this year represented the legacy of the Vijayanagara district.
The tableau depicted the Mathanga hills, the origin of the Hanuman as per the legends, the coronation ceremony of Krishnadevaraya and the mural visuals from Hazara Rama temple. Vijayanagara has been carved out as the 31st district of Karnataka, according to an official statement.
Mathanga and Anjanadari Hills located close to Hampi are believed to be the birthplaces of Hanuman and Sugriva . The legends also describe this place as the meeting point between Sri Rama and Hanuman .

Bengaluru, Jan 25: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday greeted two children selected from the state for Prime Minister National Bal Puraskar award- 2021.
In a tweet, he said this year s PM Bal Puraskar award in the invention category was won by 15 year-old K Rakesh Krishna of Dakshina Kannada District and 10 year-old Veer Kasyap from Bengaluru.
He said that the achievement of these two children are laudable and modal to other children in the country.
Veera Kasyap invented the snake and ladder game to give awareness on the Covid-19 which carries one lakh cash prize and a medal.

BENGALURU: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who announced that he will allocate portfolios to the new ministers on Thursday, is likely to effect a minor reshuffle in ministries. There is a buzz in political circles that Medium and Large Scale Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar is being considered for the Belgaum Lok Sabha bypoll. While Shettar has stated that he is not keen on contesting the bypoll, and the issue was not discussed, sources in the party said central leaders have shown keen interest in fielding him.
While reshuffling portfolios, Yediyurappa is likely to hand over some of the additional portfolios that are with him and a few other ministers, to the seven ministers inducted into the cabinet last Wednesday.
