New Delhi: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, on Monday, took a jibe at the Opposition parties in his trademark poetic style and said that while some were calling the Budget a
jumla , his views were, that the budget was a
hamla (attack) on the Opposition.
Kuchh log bol rahe hain ki ye Budget khaali jumla hai, lekin mera kehna hai ki ye Budget virodhi dalon par hamla hai (Some people are saying that this budget is a
jumla , but this budget gives justice to all the sections of the society and is an attack on the opposition parties), Athawale told news agency ANI.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale welcomed Budget 2021 that was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. It was for the first time that the Budget presentation by Nirmala Sitharaman was read out from a tablet, pushing the idea of digital India forward. Being a balanced budget that was prepared and presented when the pandemic is still underway, spending in infrastructure and health sector were among the key highlights.
While reaction on Union Budget are coming from various industries, sectors and politicians, opposition has slammed it by saying there was nothing for the common man.

MUMBAI: Union minister Ramdas Athawale on Monday said there was no need of a farmers march in Mumbai in support of peasants protesting near Delhi against the Centre s three new farm laws, and claimed it is being done only for publicity .
The central government is on the farmers side and ready to give justice to the peasants, he asserted.
However, the NCP, an ally of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government, accused Athawale of insulting farmers by calling the protest in Mumbai as a publicity stunt , and asked him to apologise to all the peasants.

Mumbai, Jan 23 : Almost nine years after his death, Mumbai got the first life-size bronze statue honouring the memory of Shiv Sena founder-patriarch late Balasaheb Keshav Thackeray, on his 95th birth anniversary here on Saturday.
Amid showering of flowers, applause and beating of drums, his son and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray unveiled the statue depicting Balasaheb Thackeray in his classical pose with both arms in the air, as he used to gesticulate during his famed annual Dussehra gatherings at the Shivaji Park, and even during political rallies.
