Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Thursday had a scathing response to the Centre asking citizens not to panic amid the rising COVID-19 cases in the country. In a tweet, he asked whether people were out to go on a picnic in the current scenario.
He wrote, Don t panic, says the government. Instead, shall we go on a picnic?
In another tweet, he further asked what system the Central government was referring to. He wrote, Trust the system, says the government. Oh, is System bigger than the Government? Please tell us, who is the Prime Minister of the System?

The Delhi High Court has asked the Centre and AAP government as to why there was Remdesivir drug scarcity in the national capital when the medication was being widely prescribed for COVID-19 patients.
Justice Prathiba M Singh made the Health Ministry and the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) a party in the matter and asked their lawyers to come with instructions on why there was a scarcity of the drug in Delhi.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 29 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday urged Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to notify medicines used in the treatment of COVID-19 under the Essential Commodities Act.
In a letter to the Union Health Minister, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister said: Due to rise in the coronavirus cases, demands for Remdesivir injection, Ivermectin tablets, Tocilizumab injection, Favipiravir Capsule, Enoxaparin injection and Dexamethasone Tablet have increased in the state, resulting in hoarding and black marketing of these medicines and injections.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government has already taken several measures such as constant monitoring of distribution and use of these medicines in hospitals, constituting a special task force for the purpose
88 lakh people registered for COVID-19 vaccination within 3 hours: Harsh Vardhan

NEW DELHI: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Thursday said that within three hours of opening the registration for COVID-19 vaccines for people between ages 18-45 years, approximately 88 lakh people get themselves registered for vaccination.
The Union Health Minister during his visit to the Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi said, “India has administered over 15 crore doses to the people above 45 years in age, healthcare workers and frontline workers. After two days the third phase of the COVID-19 vaccination will begin under which the people aged between 18-45 will be vaccinated.”
