Modi may take Covid-19 vaccine in March or April: reports

NEW DELHI, Jan 21, 2021 (BSS) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi may take Covid-19 vaccine shot in the second phase of the countrywide immunisation programme as first phase of the exercise has been progressing across the country.
Politicians, including all chief ministers, MPs, MLAs and people above 50 are likely to take vaccine shots in the second phase, officials familiar with the developments told media on Wednesday.
In the first phase that began on January 16, some 30 million healthcare and frontline workers would be vaccinated during the world’s largest inoculation exercise while the second phase of the programme will involve 270 million people, media reports said quoting official sources.

On January 18, 2021, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan inaugurated the Burns and Plastic Surgery Block of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and dedicated it to Sushruta, ‘The Father of Plastic Surgery’.

New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: At least 1,91,181 healthcare beneficiaries received COVID-19 jab on Saturday across India, marking it as a historic and biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. About 16,755 total vaccinators involved across India during the COVID vaccination drive. There was no post adverse event reported after the vaccination was administered to the people.
Delhi Vaccination: In all, 2.4 lakh healthcare workers in Delhi have registered for vaccination.
New Delhi:
The national capital has been one of the worst-hit by Covid-19 among Indian cities, with 6.31 lakh infected people till now and 10,732 deaths related to the pandemic. As the nation launches it massive fightback today with two vaccines, Delhi will be a key battlefront, with some of the biggest hospitals of the country, along with the several small local centres, forming the vanguard of the counteroffensive. The target is to inoculate 8,000 healthcare workers on day-1.
Vaccinations will begin to be administered in the city at 10.30 am at 81 different locations.
