New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: At least 1,91,181 healthcare beneficiaries received COVID-19 jab on Saturday across India, marking it as a historic and biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. About 16,755 total vaccinators involved across India during the COVID vaccination drive. There was no post adverse event reported after the vaccination was administered to the people.
As India kicked off the world's biggest Covid-19 vaccination drive, a frontline sanitation worker at Delhi AIIMS, Manish Kumar, received the first jab against the deadly respiratory disease.

Saturday (16 January) marked a historic day for India as the country kicked off the world s biggest Covid-19 vaccination drive since the outbreak of COVID-19.
The drive began with a frontline sanitation worker at Delhi AIIMS, Manish Kumar, who received the first jab against the deadly respiratory and infectious disease.
Kumar was inoculated in the presence of Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. All India Institute of Medical Sciences Director Dr Randeep Guleria also received the vaccine shot.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today cautioned Indians against dropping their guard after taking the first shot of the 2-dose Covid-19 vaccine. "Don't make the mistake of ignoring the second dose," he said, launching India's massive inoculation drive against the pandemic.
