India to inoculate 300 million people in 6-7 months: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi: Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday said that country s scientists and health experts have worked on the development of an indigenous vaccine and in the upcoming six to seven months India will have the capacity to inoculate about 30 crore (300 million) people.
Addressing the 22nd Group of Ministers (GoM) meeting on COVID-19, Health Minister said, Our scientists and health experts have worked on the development of a vaccine by genome sequencing and isolation of the coronavirus and developed an indigenous vaccine. In 6-7 months, we will have the capacity to inoculate about 30 crore people.

YANGON Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports is weighing a plan to allow certain COVID-19 patients in Yangon to isolate at home, instead of requiring them to stay at hospitals or health centers.
The idea was raised at a meeting between Union Health Minister Dr. Myint Htwe and medical superintendents of COVID-19 centers in Yangon Region on Tuesday.
Under the proposal, the ministry would implement home isolation for asymptomatic patients without underlying health conditions. Depending on the severity of their case, age, underlying health conditions, number of family members, and space available for isolation in their houses, patients would be treated at home after their health conditions are assessed at hospitals or COVID-19 centers, according to Dr. Khin Khin Gyi, th

New Delhi: The National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5) 2019-20 data, released by the Union Health Minister this Tuesday, has revealed that a higher percentage of men consume liquor in Bihar, a state in which manufacture, importation, and sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited by law, than in Maharashtra. NFHS-5 also found that alcohol consumption is least among men surveyed in Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat.

Around 5,000 nurses of the Delhi s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Monday (December 14) decided to go on an indefinite strike with immediate effect over redressal of their demands, including those related to the 6th Central Pay Commission.
According to Delhi AIIMS Nurse s Union, the country s top medical institution is hiring nurses from outside on a contract basis. The strike was earlier scheduled to be observed from December 16 (Wednesday).
All services have been interrupted as the Delhi AIIMS Nurse s Union took a big step after AIIMS administration and health department refused their demands.
