Amid a shortage of COVID-19 vaccines in the state, the Pune mayor on Sunday said that the Covishield will not be available at any vaccination centre under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation today.
However, Covaxin will be available at six centres with 200 doses each.
Earlier on Thursday, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had suspended the vaccination drive in Mumbai due to a shortage of stocks.
Earlier, in the month of April and May, the vaccination drive was frequently suspended due to the shortage of vaccines.
However, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Thursday informed that a total of 12 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be made available in July to the country and urged state leaders to not create panic.

Denying the BJP s allegations, the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government stated complete transparency was shown in the purchase of oxygen concentrators.
The Rajasthan government has clarified its stance on the issue of purchase of oxygen concentrators, days after the BJP accused it of buying them at inflated prices.
The Ashok Gehlot-led ruling dispensation has maintained that complete transparency was shown in the purchase of the oxygen concentrators. During the second wave of Covid-19 due to unavailability of medical oxygen global quotations were also invited. In this the rate received for 5 LPM oxygen concentrator with GST was Rs 1.1 lakh and the rate received for 10 LPM concentrator with GST was Rs 1.55 lakh. After negotiation this rate was decided as Rs 51,700 for five welcome concentrator and from Rs 79,095 to Rs 85,000 for 10 LPM concentrator,” a statement issued by the Health Department of Rajasthan government on Saturday mentioned.
