The biggest question for students and parents is, when will schools and colleges reopen and start functioning normally? What can you tell us?
The Unlock 5 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (on September 30) gave the flexibility to state and Union territory (UT) governments to take a decision on the reopening of schools, colleges and educational institutions from October 15 in noncontainment zones in a graded manner. The decision has to be taken in consultation with the respective school/institution management, based on their assessment of the situation. The institutes will have to mandatorily follow the SOP regarding health and safety precautions issued by their respective education departments of state or UT. Students are waiting with bated breath for Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ s interaction with teachers on the issue of conduct of Class X, XII board examinations.
There has been a lot of buzz on social media as well as media reports claiming that the CBSE Board Exams for classes 10 and 12 will be held in March 2021. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a clarification on December 10 that any decision on the board exams for classes 10 and 12 would be communicated at an appropriate time on its official website.

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 18 (ANI): Buildings in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have been illuminated for its centenary celebrations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at centenary celebrations on December 22, through video conferencing.
Speaking to ANI, AMU Public Relations Officer (PRO) Omar Saleem Peerzada said, A centenary celebration is a landmark event in the history of any university. We are celebrating this event following all protocols of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are webinars, seminars and symposiums going on. Moreover the landmark buildings and administrative block of the Univesity besides several gates are being decorated with lights depicting the rich and unique heritage of the University, he said.
