A barber shop and used car lot were fronts for a large-scale North Jersey drug trafficking ring, said authorities who seized nearly 21 pounds of fentanyl, 7½ pounds of cocaine, a loaded gun and more while arresting 20 people in Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties.
Nearly two dozen locations in New Jersey and New York were raided and nearly four pounds of meth, more than a pound and a half of fentanyl and $118,395 in cash were seized by a team headed by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Narcotics Task Force working with federal Homeland Security Investigations and the NYPD, they said Wednesday.

Pharmacies across Northern New Jersey were burglarized over a three-month span.

Ten Jersey City men have been charged in a pharmacy burglary conspiracy that victimized at least 40 pharmacies in northern New Jersey over three months, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig.
Charged by complaint with one count of conspiracy to commit burglary involving controlled substances are Jersey City residents Mohummad Simmons, 25, aka “Mo Waps;” Tamir Brown, 27, aka “Stragg;” Rico Phang, 19, aka “Little Mil;” Deon Davis, 24, aka “Dee;” Michael Simeus, 27, aka Jerk;” David Booker, 28; Darrel Hicks, 25; Daquan Hart, 22, aka “Day Day;” Jamiel French, 27, aka “Money Mil;” and Tyriq Rembert, 28.
N.J. man offered child in Georgia money for nude photos, authorities say

A 34-year-old New Jersey man with has been charged by Georgia authorities with exploitation of children after he offered a juvenile money online for nude photographs, officials said.
Eric E. Talley, of Roselle, was taken into custody at his Roselle home on Jan. 5, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Monday.
Authorities began investigating after someone tipped off the Oconee County (Georgia) Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations identified Talley as a suspect and learned he had been charged with possessing and viewing child pornography in New Jersey in 2016 and criminal solicitation of a minor in South Carolina in 2012.

WESTFIELD, NJ A series of stickers posted on local streets in support of a white supremacist group were removed this week and later condemned by the authorities, who said they are investigating.
Officials with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said investigators are aware of materials found affixed to public property in Westfield advertising a group identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a white nationalist group.
