Union Township man charged with Newark girlfriend s killing in custody MyCentralJersey.com UNION (Union) – A township man charged with the shooting death of his girlfriend is in police custody after turning himself in. Union police responded early Sunday to a home on the 2100 block of Melrose Parkway near the corner of Hillcrest Terrace North where they found Taylor unresponsive, after suffering serious injuries, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Armando Suarez, who is handling the case. Taylor was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 8 a.m., authorities said. Webber was identified as a suspect following an investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force and assisted by members of the Union Police Department, Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and New Jersey State Police.
