The round was led by Union Square Ventures with participation from Matchstick Ventures, Starting Line Ventures, 2048 Ventures and Range Ventures. The company will use the funding to expand its proprietary Camera-to-Cloud technology and introduce a subscription product. Founded in 2019 by Liz Giorgi and Hayley Anderson, and Hayley Anderson, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, soona provides a technology platform that powers virtual photo and video shoots, enabling brands to create content for e-commerce and marketing. The platform provides professional custom content with a 24-hour delivery time.

Soona Raises $10.2M In Series A Funding The Minneapolis-based company has plans to scale its virtual content creation platform for e-commerce brands and open a local fulfillment studio. Fueled by surging demand for product photos along with the growth of e-commerce during the pandemic, Minneapolis-based photo and video studio soona just closed on a $10.2 million Series A funding round that will help the startup scale its technology, open a distribution center, and hire as many as 60 employees this year.  New York City-based Union Square Ventures led the effort via Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange platform that just went public on Wednesday. The funding follows previous rounds from Minneapolis-based Matchstick Ventures, 2048 Ventures, and Range Ventures, bringing soona’s cumulative raise to $15.5 million.
