Maturity of Belarusian space industry praised MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – One can say with confidence today that a space industry has indeed been established in Belarus, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov on 9 April. In his words, the Belarusian space industry comprises over 20 scientific and manufacturing organizations and employs about 4,000 qualified specialists. A major strategic space research system has been established. Vladimir Gusakov stressed that Belarusian scientists and manufacturers have been taking an active part in the creation of new materials, optics, electronics, and information technologies for space applications since the times of the Soviet Union. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has created a space research agency. The agency operates successfully and has put together a strong team of specialists.

Belarus, Russia agree to set up three joint combat training centers Photo courtesy of TASS MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu met in Moscow on 5 March and discussed the implementation of events outlined by the Belarus-Russia strategic partnership program for 2021-2025. The sides agreed it is necessary to set up three joint combat training centers, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA. A combat training center for Air Force and Air Defense personnel is supposed to be created in Belarus. The center will train crews of Su-30SM aircraft. It will train Belarusian specialists how to operate the modern air defense missile systems that the Russian army uses. It will also focus on the joint accomplishment of combat training missions. The center will greatly improve the level of training of Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense personnel and personnel of the Russian Aerospace Forces. It wi
