Panaji, Jan 12 : Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday met his Defence Ministry colleague MoS Shripad Naik, who has been admitted to a Goa hospital following a road accident in Karnataka late on Monday.
Singh briefly met Naik at the Goa Medical College campus to enquire after his health and to condole the death of the Union MoS s wife Vijaya, before leaving for the national capital.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Naik s condition is stable and he s responding well to treatment after two orthopaedic operations in the early hours of Tuesday.

This time, Wancho s wooden log drum Kham and the Chakzam Bridge at Tawang will be on display.
This final selection was done by the Ministry of Defence, after a series of meetings.
Meanwhile, the Assam tableau will showcase the tea garden of the state. The theme of the tableau of Assam is Assam tea- the backbone of India s economy.

Union Minister Shripad Naik was injured while his wife was killed when the car they were travelling in met with an accident near a village in Ankola Taluk of Karnataka on Monday. The minister s personal secretary Deepak Ramdada also died in the accident.
They were en route Gokarna from Yellapur when the incident took place. According to the police, the minister s wife died on the spot. Three other people are seriously injured.
