SC refuses to entertain plea seeking to prosecute Farooq Abdullah for statement on Article 370 ANI | Updated: Mar 03, 2021 13:34 IST New Delhi [India], March 3 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to entertain a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), filed by one Rajat Sharma, against former Chief Minister of Jammu and KashmirFarooq Abdullah, seeking a direction to prosecute him for allegedly making a statement on scrapping of Article 370. The bench of the Apex Court also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on Sharma. A bench of the Apex Court, headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, while refusing to entertain the PIL filed by Sharma, observed that the expression of views that are dissent and different from the opinion of the government cannot be termed as seditious.

They have come for a two-day visit to the union territory of J&K to assess the on-ground situation. The Hindu : A 24-member high-level delegation, including envoys and Ambassadors of the European Union (EU) and other foreign countries, arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday morning to assess the ground situation by meeting local civil society groups, elected representatives, political leaders and students. EU Ambassador Ugo Astuto is leading the delegation. It is the third visit of the EU envoys to Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of special status of J&K in August, 2019.
