Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention for the inclusion of Punjabi in the official list of languages of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, Captain Singh urged him to advise the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to reconsider and review the official list and include Punjabi also as one of the official languages in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
SRINAGAR: The Government on Thursday informed that 63 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 18 from Jammu division and 45 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 124297. Also, 01COVID-19 death has been reported from Jammu Division.
Moreover, 149 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 97 from Jammu Division and 52 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 124297 positive cases, 963 are Active Positive, 121402 have recovered and 1932 have died; 720 in Jammu division and 1212 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 4481723 test results available, 4357426 samples have been tested as negative till January 28, 2021.

Chandigarh, Jan 28 : Citing Punjab s historical links with Jammu and Kashmir since Maharaja Ranjit Singh s time, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi s intervention for the inclusion of Punjabi in the official list of languages of the Union Territory (UT).
In a letter to the Prime Minister, Amarinder Singh urged him to advise the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to reconsider and review the official list and include Punjabi also as one of the official languages in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
